Description

This magazine, visible in the photo, is a copy of the monthly STARFIX, a benchmark publication dedicated to contemporary cinema, as indicated at the top of the cover. This is issue number 30, dated January 1988, as specified at the bottom of the page. The cover features a striking photograph of the character Robocop, an emblematic figure of 80s science fiction, illustrating the main event of this issue.

The front page also features the words "AVORIAZ 88" in vertical yellow letters, a reference to the Avoriaz Fantastic Film Festival, and the titles "Le fer et le sang" (Iron and Blood), "Tous les films de la sélection passés au scalpel" (All selected films scrutinized), as well as "Et l’événement Robocop au laser" (And the Robocop event with laser). The barcode, reference M 2654-56, price in francs, and international distribution information are clearly visible at the bottom right.

The magazine is printed in color with a soft cover, typical of specialized press publications from the 1980s. The visual of Robocop, in metallic armor, occupies most of the page. The texts are printed in yellow and white on a photographic background, for a dynamic and attractive presentation.

The upper left edge shows a slight fold, but the cover remains generally very well preserved for a periodical of that era. No major defects are visible on the presented side. The magazine rests on a wooden surface, next to a laptop and a leather case, which in no way affects the integrity of the object offered.

This issue stands out for its focus on genre cinema, particularly the selection of the Avoriaz festival and the in-depth analysis of the film Robocop, which profoundly marked the collective imagination at the end of the 80s.

Condition

Used item sold as is. The visible cover is in very good condition with minimal signs of use consistent with the magazine's age. No apparent snags or tears on the shown side.

Did you know? STARFIX was one of the most influential cinema magazines in France in the 1980s, recognized for its incisive analyses and bold editorial choices, particularly in highlighting fantastic and science fiction cinema, which was rarely covered in the general press at the time.
