Description

This vintage magazine is an original copy of Moto Journal, issue number 123, dated June 14, 1973. The cover is typical of the 1970s graphic style, with a massive red title "MOTO" on a dark background, accompanied by the white subtitle "JOURNAL". The edition highlights motorcycle news of the period, with a particular focus on iconic races and tests.

The front page features a dynamic photograph of a motorcycle race: two riders in blue and black suits, matching helmets, are lined up at the starting line. The motorcycles bear the numbers 1 and 2, the first clearly displaying the Suzuki brand and a Shell sticker on the fairing. The background reveals a Dunlop banner, officials and spectators, as well as a typical road circuit environment, reinforcing the authenticity of the captured scene.

In the upper right corner, a yellow insert indicates a "500 Kawa 73" test, highlighting the presence of a test of the 1973 Kawasaki 500, a subject sought after by classic motorcycle enthusiasts. The main title at the bottom of the cover, in blue and red, announces: "La Marseillaise au T.T grâce à Findlay," highlighting Jack Findlay's victory at the Tourist Trophy, a flagship event in international motorcycling.

The magazine is presented in a stapled bound format, typical of specialized press of that era. The upper left edge displays the original price (2.50 F), the full date, and the issue number. No major defects are visible on the front; the cover is well preserved with vibrant colors and perfectly legible text.

This issue stands out for its cover illustrating 1970s motorcycle racing, its focus on international races, and tests of models that have become iconic. It is an original copy, ideal for documenting the history of motorcycling or enriching an archive library on old motorcycle press.

Condition

Used item and sold as is. The visible cover shows slight signs of handling consistent with its age, with no tearing or major apparent stains on the front. The colors are well preserved, with no significant alteration.

Did you know? The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, often called "TT," is one of the oldest and most perilous motorcycle races in the world, organized since 1907. Jack Findlay, highlighted on this cover, was the first rider to win the TT on a two-stroke Suzuki in 1973, marking a decisive step in the history of motorcycle sport.
