Description

This vintage magazine is an original copy of the famous French periodical "Moto Journal," issue number 124, dated June 21, 1973. The cover features a racing motorcyclist in action on a Suzuki, with the striking title "Le million: le chèque à Sheene" (The Million: The Check to Sheene) in yellow letters. The "SUZUKI" logo is clearly visible on the motorcycle, accompanied by several sponsor stickers (Renold, Lockheed, Champion, Shell), typical of 1970s racing.

The magazine's graphic design is very representative of early 70s motorcycle press, with a dynamic layout, vibrant colors, and action-packed sports photography. The headings "CROSS: GP DE FRANCE" and "VITESSE: OPATIJA COMME CHARADE" are printed at the bottom of the cover, indicating the main content focused on motorcycle competition, motocross, and speed Grand Prix races.

The top left corner states the price at the time: 2.50 F, with the mention "CHAQUE JEUDI" (EVERY THURSDAY), highlighting the weekly periodicity of this specialized magazine. On the visible spine, the prices for Belgium, Switzerland, and Luxembourg are also noted, as well as a code reference "M 2934 - 468 - 700 F."

The cover features the iconic "MOTO JOURNAL" title in red and white, immediately recognizable by vintage motorcycle press enthusiasts. The overall presentation, typography, and photography attest to an authentic retro aesthetic, characteristic of the early 1970s. The general condition of the cover shows some signs of wear and handling, notably slight fold marks and abrasion on the spine and corners, with no major visible tears on the displayed side.

This issue highlights Barry Sheene, an emblematic rider in the discipline, and offers a valuable insight into the atmosphere and news of motorcycling sports from that period.
