Description
This illustrated magazine is an original copy of "Le Nouveau Pif et son gadget," issue 818, sold for 9 francs, published in 1986. The cover features bright colors dominated by green, yellow, and pink, with illustrations and photographs typical of 1980s youth press. In the upper left, the title "Pif" is clearly visible in pink lettering on a yellow background, accompanied by the mention "et son gadget" (and its gadget). The issue's front cover highlights the "pocket-money" gadget, prominently displayed in the center of the page with an explanatory photo showing its use. There is also an "TON GADGET" (YOUR GADGET) insert in the upper right, a characteristic element of issues from this period.
The various sections announced on the cover include "COLUCHE: l'aventure du serpent à plumes" (Coluche: the adventure of the feathered serpent) with a photo of Coluche and a monkey, "TARAO combat les terribles rats-volant" (Tarao fights the terrible flying rats), as well as the comic strip "Pifou et les trois mousquetaires" (Pifou and the three musketeers). Several colorful speech bubbles and cartridges give a dynamic look to the layout, with humorous drawings and a distinct comic strip style. The magazine bears the ISSN 0754-9490 in the upper right and the publication date "Mai 1986" (May 1986) appears on the spine.
The upper left edge shows signs of wear, pronounced folds, and a slight tear, indicating prolonged storage. There is a general patina, dog-eared corners, and handling marks on the cover, typical of old magazines that have circulated. The presence of the original gadget (pocket-money) is highlighted on the cover, but its actual presence inside cannot be confirmed without further inspection.
The format is classic for French youth press of this era: soft cover, slightly yellowed paper, typical offset printing of the 1980s. All texts and drawings on the cover are clear and legible, although the spine is weakened and the corners are blunted. The colors remain vibrant despite exposure to time.
