Description

Comic book magazine shown in the photo, it is a copy of the famous periodical "Spirou". The cover features a humorous, brightly colored illustration, typical of the graphic style of the late 20th century, with the caption "Cet été, bronzez idiot... ou lisez Cactus Club" (This summer, get a stupid tan... or read Cactus Club). The "SPIROU" logo appears prominently at the top, accompanied by a mascot drawn within the O, and a tagline "LE MEILLEUR RAPPORT HILARITÉ/PRIX" (THE BEST LAUGHTER/PRICE RATIO).

The depicted scene shows several comic strip characters in a summery and quirky atmosphere, including an imposing character in heart-patterned shorts, holding a green crocodile-shaped buoy, and surrounded by caricature bathers. In the background, a sign reads "Grand bain" (Main Pool). The artist's signature is visible in the bottom right of the image, though partially legible.

The magazine is distinguished by its flexible format with staple binding clearly visible on the left edge. The main colors of the cover are sky blue, green, pink, and red, with a pale yellow title. The numbering visible at the bottom right (M 3551 - 5822 - 10,50 F) indicates a French publication sold at the time in francs.

This issue is presented in a slightly tilted position against an old bookshelf background, which highlights its vintage and authentic appearance. The edges of the magazine are generally clean, with no apparent missing parts on the visible side, but slight creases or signs of handling are noticeable on the cover, indicating previous use.

The cover, with its humorous and colorful style, is characteristic of the satirical and family-friendly spirit of Spirou magazines, particularly popular with fans of Franco-Belgian comics and graphic humor.

Condition

Used magazine, sold as is. Light signs of wear visible on the cover (small creases and slightly marked corners). The visible side shows no major tears or pronounced stains.

Did you know? Spirou is one of the oldest French-language comic strip magazines still in print, launched in 1938 by Dupuis editions. It helped discover many major Franco-Belgian comic authors such as Franquin, Rob-Vel, or Tome & Janry, and remains a testament to the evolution of European graphic humor.
