Description
This visible issue is an old comic book magazine, "Spirou", a weekly edition, identifiable by its iconic pinkish-red cover and the large illustration from the "Timour" series. The issue number indicated at the top of the page is No. 896, dated June 16, 1955, making it an issue from the 18th year of Spirou magazine's publication. The main title "SPIRou" is printed in black, accompanied by the banner "UNE GRANDE AVENTURE DANS DE PRESTIGIEUX DÉCORS : TIMOUR" (A GREAT ADVENTURE IN PRESTIGIOUS SETTINGS: TIMOUR), with an illustration of a Viking longship and characters at sea, typical of the Franco-Belgian comic strip graphic style of the 1950s.
The cover features five colorful comic strip vignettes, predominantly in shades of blue, black, and gray, with characters in scuba gear and dialogue in speech bubbles. The drawing style, the marked outlines, as well as the marine and adventure atmosphere are reminiscent of the great classics of the Spirou era. The lettering, bubbles, and layout are characteristic of Spirou publications from the 1950s.
The visual condition of the cover shows a good overall appearance, with no apparent tears or major creases on the visible front. The colors are still well preserved for a magazine of this era, with good readability of the texts and images. The original price "30 francs" and the mention "24 pages" appear at the top, confirming the authenticity and age of the copy. No major structural defects are observable on this side, apart from a slight curl of the upper right corner.
The magazine is presented on a festive background, placed on a red fabric and in front of a Christmas decor, which highlights its colors and vintage appearance. No annotations, signatures, or major defects are visible on the photographed cover. The spine, back, or interior are not visible in this image.
Condition
