Description
This magazine presented is an issue of the French monthly STARFIX, dedicated to contemporary cinema, as it was published in the 1980s. This is the special issue "Cannes 87", dated May 1987, as clearly visible on the cover. The visual features a color photograph of a famous filmmaker, framed by article titles and a layout typical of the editorial aesthetic of the late 1980s.
The cover prominently displays the distinctive "STARFIX" logo in silver capital letters on a light gray background. Below this title, the mention "Le mensuel du cinéma d’aujourd’hui" (The monthly of today's cinema) reminds readers of the magazine's editorial focus. The issue highlights the 1987 Cannes Film Festival, with the imposing inscription "NUMERO SPECIAL CANNES 87" in bright red, topped by the stylized palm of the festival.
Several major names in international cinema are listed on the left (Federico Fellini, Francesco Rosi, Peter Greenaway, Norman Mailer, Barbet Schroeder, Andrei Konchalovsky, The Taviani Brothers, Stephen Frears, Jonathan Demme), illustrating the diversity of topics covered in this issue. Other visible sections include "Le bonheur" (Radio Days by Woody Allen), a survey on French cinema, and a "Les cadeaux" section offering cards and posters to win.
The magazine is presented closed, showing only the front cover. The paper has a slight satin effect typical of publications of that era. No major tears, significant creases, or excessive wear are visible on the displayed face, apart from a discreet horizontal mark towards the top of the cover, a sign of careful storage but not free from handling. The corners appear generally sharp, with no obvious signs of crushing on the visible area.
The barcode, the reference (M 2654 - 48 - 25,00 F), as well as the original price (25 francs) are clearly visible at the bottom right. The footer line specifies the issue number (N° 48), the date (May 1987), and the status "Numéro spécial" (Special Issue).
Condition
This used magazine is in very good apparent condition for its age. The cover has a slight crease mark at the top, without major alteration to the visual. The colors remain vibrant and the text perfectly legible. Sold used and as is, as photographed.
