Description
This vintage magazine is issue number 16 of the monthly "Super Hercule," presented by PIF. The brightly colored yellow and blue cover features the comic book character Hercules in a humorous scene, typical of the series' mischievous universe. The title "Super Hercule" is prominently displayed, with the subtitle "La griffe du rire" (The Claw of Laughter), and the central illustration shows Hercules the cat in a dynamic pose, dressed in a blue kimono, sword in hand, evoking the martial arts theme mentioned on the cover.
In the upper left, the PIF logo and a small animated character are also visible, attesting to its belonging to the galaxy of youth magazines of the late 20th century. The cover mentions sections such as "Les Arts Martiaux, Fendant, Non!" (Martial Arts, Slashing, No!) and an interview with Niagara, as well as an offer for a prank gift in a bright red insert on the right.
The magazine is priced at 12 francs and has a barcode at the bottom left, with prices for Switzerland and Canada indicated on the spine. The original illustration by Yannick is signed at the bottom of the page, adding to the authenticity of the copy. The mention "Mensuel n°16" (Monthly n°16) appears at the top right, specifying its periodicity.
The spine of the magazine is visible in the photo, showing slight wear from use, typical of magazines from this period. A chip and a stain are present at the bottom of the cover, as well as fold marks and an old patina on the edges, confirming the vintage character and used condition of the item.
The graphics, printing, and illustration style are characteristic of the 1980s, with a humorous and colorful design, typical of French youth press of that era.

Did you know? Super Hercule is a spin-off of the famous Pif Gadget magazine, published in the 1970s and 1980s. Hercules, the mischievous cat, is the iconic rival of Pif the dog, two characters created by José Cabrero Arnal. The magazine regularly offered gadgets or pranks as supplements, making it a staple of French youth press.
