Description

This magazine shown in the photo is an original copy of the weekly "Tintin" magazine, French edition, recognizable by its characteristic purple logo at the top of the cover. It is issue number 147 (No. 27 of the 33rd year), dated 1978, as indicated by the printed mention at the top right of the cover. This issue features Cosey's comic strip "Jonathan," with the episode title "L’espace bleu entre les nuages" (The Blue Space Between the Clouds) inscribed in colored letters. The illustrated scene shows a character sitting in a boat on calm water, paddling in front of a landscape of mountains and stilt houses, in a graphic style typical of Franco-Belgian comics of the 1970s.

The cover is dominated by blue, yellow, and purple tones, with a very detailed drawing, highlighting the artistic quality characteristic of the great illustrators of Tintin magazine. The main title "Tintin" spans the entire width of the upper part, while the mention "L’hebdomadaire des super-jeunes de 7 à 77 ans" (The weekly for super-young people from 7 to 77 years old) appears just below, recalling the family and popular positioning of the periodical at that time.

The lower right corner of the cover bears the signature "Cosey," confirming the authenticity of the original drawing by this major comic book author. In the bottom right, the handwritten date "4-7-78" is visible, corresponding to the publication period. No major defects are apparent on the shown side: the cover appears well-preserved, with vibrant colors and no visible tears. However, there is a slight curling of the upper left corner, typical of an old magazine that has been thumbed through.

The back and other inner pages are not visible in the photo, but the spine shows slight wear consistent with the magazine's age. The whole presents an authentic vintage look, true to the aesthetic of youth press from the late 1970s. No annotations, stains, or missing parts are visible on the front face presented.

Condition

This Tintin magazine is used and sold as is. The cover shown is in good overall condition for an issue from that era, with slight signs of wear on the spine and a curled upper left corner. The colors remain vibrant and the illustration perfectly legible.

Did you know? The character Jonathan, created by Cosey (Bernard Cosandey), first appeared in Tintin magazine in 1975. This series, recognized for its settings inspired by Tibet and Asia, marked a graphic and thematic turning point in Franco-Belgian comics of the 1970s and 1980s, offering a more contemplative and introspective tone than most youth albums of the time.
