Description
This magazine, visible in the photo, is an old copy of the famous weekly "Tintin", issue number 39, 40th year. The cover features a dynamic illustration highlighting "Tounga: la loi et le sang" (Tounga: The Law and the Blood), one of the flagship series of the magazine. The image shows two armed prehistoric characters in action, crossing a watercourse in a wild setting. The dominant colors are bright yellow for the "Tintin" title and earthy tones for the central illustration, typical of 1980s comic book covers.
In the upper right, there is also an insert "HANS: la cité brillante" (HANS: The Shining City) illustrated by two characters in futuristic armor, recalling the diversity of universes present in Tintin magazine. The upper left corner features Tintin's head, the emblematic mascot, and the mention "L’HEBDOMADAIRE DES SUPER-JEUNES DE 7 À 77 ANS" (The Weekly for Super-Young People from 7 to 77 Years Old). Price information for several European countries is printed at the top, confirming the international circulation of the title at that time.
The typography of the "Tintin" logo in yellow on a red background, the realistic illustration style, and the layout are characteristic of the mid-1980s period. The visible condition shows slightly folded corners, especially in the bottom right, and moderate wear on the edges, common for a vintage magazine.
In the bottom left, a white label with a handwritten internal reference is visible ("N°39 S/S – 3FF"). The date printed at the bottom right of the cover indicates "23-7-85", which precisely places this copy in the summer of 1985. No other major defects are observable on the front.
Condition
Used magazine, sold as is. Shows typical signs of wear for an old magazine: slightly dog-eared corners, scuffed edges. Cover colors well preserved. Please examine the photo carefully to judge the overall condition.
Did you know? "Tintin" magazine, founded in 1946 in Belgium, influenced several generations of French-speaking readers by publishing emblematic series such as "Blake et Mortimer", "Alix", and "Tounga".
