Visual description

The magazine visible in the photo is an old issue of the famous weekly magazine "Tintin," identified here by its light blue and white logo at the top of the cover, accompanied by the inscription "The weekly for super-young people from 7 to 77 years old." This is issue 43, 40th year, dated October 15, 1985 (date printed at the bottom right of the cover). The cover features a dynamic full-color illustration of the story "Jugurtha – The Mountains of the Moon": in the foreground, a shirtless male character is being pursued by a group of galloping Indian horsemen, in a graphic style typical of Franco-Belgian comics of the 1980s.

At the top left is Tintin's face in a round insert, an iconic signature of the magazine. On the upper right, a humorous speech bubble with Professor Calculus adds a recognizable touch for comic book enthusiasts. A yellow star-shaped banner announces the feature "All the Cars of Indianapolis," which also indicates automotive thematic content in this issue.

The main colors of the cover are the light blue of the logo, the yellow of the banner, and beige and brown tones for the central illustration. The title "Jugurtha" is printed in red, and the subtitle "The Mountains of the Moon" in handwritten blue, reinforcing the graphic contrast. At the bottom left, a printed label bears the reference "M2237 – 527 – 8FF."

The magazine has a visibly vintage appearance with a slight curve to the cover and some moderate signs of wear, particularly on the edges and corners, typical of a period copy that has been handled but carefully preserved. No major defects are observable on the visible side.

This issue is distinguished by the presence of an emblematic illustrated story ("Jugurtha"), editorial content on automobiles, and a graphic style very representative of Tintin publications from the mid-1980s.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The cover shows some visible signs of use and a slight curve, with no apparent tears or major stains on the front.

Did you know? Tintin magazine, founded in 1946 in Belgium, influenced several generations of French-speaking readers and served as a springboard for many major European comic book artists. The character of Jugurtha, created by Jean-Luc Vernal and Hermann in 1967, is inspired by the historical Numidian king and achieved great success in the pages of the weekly.
