Description

The magazine shown in the photo is an old copy of the famous weekly "Tintin", French edition, intended for young readers aged 7 to 77. The cover, easily recognizable by its large pink and white band, displays the title "Tintin" in large characters, accompanied by the mention "L’hebdomadaire des super-jeunes de 7 à 77 ans" (The weekly for super-young people aged 7 to 77). This issue bears the reference "n°44, 40e année" (no. 44, 40th year), and the date printed at the bottom of the cover is 29-10-85, which precisely places its publication period in autumn 1985.

On the front, the dynamic illustration shows a character in a light blue adventurer's outfit, armed with a pistol, moving through a lush jungle in front of ancient ruins. Two uniformed men appear in the background, adding a dimension of action and suspense. The graphic composition is typical of Franco-Belgian comics of the 80s, with clean lines and bold colors.

The titles "Brelan de Dames" (Three of a Kind) and "Le Temple de Linjar" (The Temple of Linjar) are highlighted on the cover with yellow boxes with red and black lettering, announcing the main adventures or stories in this issue. At the top right, a bubble mentions "+ Poster Tounga", indicating the presence of a detachable poster related to the Tounga series, an element appreciated by readers of the time.

The upper left corner indicates the price for different countries (Belgium, Canada, Spain, Switzerland), while the lower left corner contains an internal reference (M2291 – 523 – BFF). The whole presents with a slight patina, typical of old magazines, and the cover appears generally well preserved, although slight wear on the upper left edge is visible.

The graphic style, layout, and choice of series present are representative of Tintin magazine in the second half of the 1980s, a period marked by the diversity of genres (adventure, detective, humor) and the quality of the illustrations.

Condition

This magazine is used and sold as is. The cover shows slight traces of wear on the edges, particularly in the upper left corner, with no major tears visible on the presented face. The colors remain vibrant and the whole is clean for a copy from that era.

Did you know? Tintin magazine, launched in 1946 in Belgium, was one of the pillars of Franco-Belgian comics. It hosted great authors such as Hergé, Edgar P. Jacobs, and Tibet. The character Tounga, highlighted in this issue, is a creation of Édouard Aidans and is among the prominent prehistoric adventure series of the journal.
