Description

This magazine, visible in the photo, is an original copy of the famous weekly "Tintin," with a colorful illustrated cover dominated by the "tintin" logo in bright pink on a white background. The number indicated at the top right is No. 156, year 31, with the date 29-8-77 at the bottom right of the cover, precisely dating this copy to the late 1970s. The cover visual features a male character in an archer's outfit, armed with a longbow and ready to shoot an arrow, against a stylized architectural backdrop.

At the top left, several mentions are printed: "SIMON DU FLEUVE" and "CITÉ N.W. N°3," as well as a yellow insert announcing "+ UN POSTER," indicating the presence of a period supplement inside (not visible in the photo, only the announcement on the cover is certain). The mention "RÉCIT AUTHENTIQUE: L’ATLANTIDE" also indicates specific editorial content for this issue.

The spine of the magazine reveals stapled binding typical of weekly publications of that period. The item shows a slight curvature on the upper left part, as well as an initial patina on the spine, usual signs of an old, handled magazine. The cover colors remain vibrant and the print is clearly legible, indicating good overall preservation for a periodical of that era.

The graphic style of the cover, the typefaces, and the layout are characteristic of 1970s youth magazines, confirming its vintage authenticity. The price mentions in Belgian, French, Swiss, and Spanish francs visible on the lower left spine reinforce the identification of an original European edition.

This issue of Tintin is particularly sought after for the series "Simon du Fleuve," an iconic Franco-Belgian comic strip saga, as well as for the announcement of a bonus poster. The overall condition is consistent with a used copy, with visible traces of use but no apparent missing parts on the cover.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Visible signs of wear on the spine and slight handling marks on the cover. Colors well preserved, no apparent tears on the visible side.

Did you know? The "Tintin" magazine, launched in 1946, helped popularize many major Franco-Belgian comic strip series, including "Simon du Fleuve" created by Auclair in 1976. The issues from the 70s are particularly sought after for the quality of their supplements and the richness of their original stories.
