Description

This antique round-dial pressure gauge is a pressure measuring instrument designed to indicate pressure in bars. The visible face features a patinated white dial, marked with graduations from 0 to 8 bar, with the inscription "bar" clearly legible in the center. The original black needle is still in place, currently pointing to the value 2. The dial is encircled by a mounting with a burnished metallic appearance, typical of industrial instruments from past decades.

The dial glass is marked by a clearly visible vertical crack that runs across the right side of the surface. The glass also shows traces of dirt and wear, indicating intensive use in an industrial environment. The outer contour of the dial shows a pronounced patina, with visible signs of oxidation on the mounting.

The typography of the dial, simple and functional, as well as the general style of the piece, evoke manufacturing from the mid to late 20th century, common in industrial, mechanical, or hydraulic equipment. No logo, brand, or manufacturer reference is identifiable on the visible face.

This type of pressure gauge was intended for use on machines, plumbing installations, boilers, or hydraulic systems, allowing for quick visual pressure control.

The piece is distinguished by its robust appearance and authentically aged look, which will particularly suit industrial decor or the restoration of vintage machines requiring original components.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The dial has a significant crack on the glass, internal dirt marks, and a marked patina on the mounting. Visible wear from use over the entire surface.

Did you know? Analog dial pressure gauges, like this one, generally work using a Bourdon tube that deforms under pressure and moves the needle. This principle, invented in 1849 by Eugène Bourdon, is still used today in many industrial sectors.
