Description

This running medal features an irregular rectangular shape with deliberately wavy edges, typical of handcrafted production or a special edition. The front side, visible in the photo, is adorned with a motif depicting three stylized runners: two dark blue silhouettes frame a central white silhouette, all in full action, evoking an athletics or cross-country scene. The details are made with colored enamel, providing a stark contrast between the figures and the matte bronze-like background.

The upper attachment, also made of metal, is openwork to allow for a ribbon or chain to pass through, suggesting a medal intended to be worn or displayed. The overall piece displays a vintage aesthetic, reinforced by the visible patina and some slight wear marks on the surface, attesting to its age and past use during sporting events.

The graphic style of the silhouettes, the enamel used, and the matte bronze appearance clearly place this medal in the second half of the 20th century, likely between the 1960s and 1980s, a period when this type of award was common at local or school competitions.

Also visible, in the bottom right, is what appears to be a signature or hallmark, consisting of two engraved letters "BB", possibly indicating the manufacturer or artist, but with no legible commercial mark on the visible side.
