Description

This old medal features a design characteristic of French maritime commemorative badges. Trapezoidal with rounded edges and side wings, it has a main face with a green background adorned with gilded metal reliefs. At the top, the inscription "MEDIE II" stands out against a green background, accompanied on the left by a small motif evoking a leaf or a distinctive symbol.

Just below, the oval "CNP" (Compagnie Nationale de Navigation Paquet) logo is clearly visible, outlined in red and blue. In the center of the medal, a gilded relief bust profile of a woman recalls the iconography of the Republic or French allegorical maritime figures. In the lower part, a stylized ocean liner, also in relief, stands out clearly against the green background, with the inscription "Métra" engraved on the hull.

The whole features a gilded metallic finish, with visible patinated areas, particularly on the edges and the upper hook. The bail attachment allows for easy suspension, typical of reward or maritime souvenir medals. The medal shows light wear on the reliefs, testifying to its age and vintage authenticity.
