Description

This antique religious medal features a four-lobed clover shape, characteristic of some pious productions from the 19th or early 20th century. The visible side displays a scene in low relief depicting a figure in prayer, turned towards a sacred figure in a cloud. The border is adorned with a frieze of small raised dots, outlining the shape of the medallion and accentuating its traditional decorative aspect.

The medal has a gilded or patinated brass finish, with a surface showing visible traces of oxidation and wear, typical of an old object that has lasted through decades. The partially legible raised inscription surrounds the central scene and reads: "... PRAY FOR US". This type of inscription is frequently associated with Catholic devotional medals, intended for prayer and protection.

The bail integrated into the top of the medallion is accompanied by a metal suspension ring, allowing the medal to be worn as a pendant, on a chain or ribbon. The details of the religious scene remain perceptible despite the wear, with a kneeling silhouette and a celestial figure, probably a Virgin or a saint, according to the iconographic traditions of the era.

The visible side shows some oxidation marks, slight scratches, and a uniform patina, giving the medal an authentic charm. The letter "T" is also visible at the bottom of the medal, an identification element sometimes used by manufacturing workshops, although the precise workshop is not identifiable here.

The medal is placed on a light background, near an ornate frame or box, highlighting the contrast between the object's ancient patina and the surrounding golden decor. No other accessories are visible on the presented side.
