Description

This antique religious medal features a raised portrait of Pope Pius XII (PIVS XII), identifiable by the Latin inscription "PIVS XII PONT. MAX." visible on the obverse. The medal has a classic circular shape, with a sturdy bail for use as a pendant. The Pope's effigy, in profile, shows him wearing his richly detailed pontifical vestments and raising his right hand in a gesture of blessing.

The metal of the medal displays an antique golden patina, with warm hues and some visible oxidation, particularly near the border and on the lower part of the vestment. The details of the face, liturgical garments, and ornaments are finely chased, highlighting the quality striking characteristic of religious productions from the mid-20th century.
