Description

This antique religious medal depicts the Virgin Mary standing, with arms open, in a classic iconography of the Immaculate Conception. The medal is oval in shape, with an integrated bail to allow it to be suspended as a pendant. The entire piece has an aged patina, accentuating its antique and authentic character.

On the visible side, the Virgin is finely detailed, with the drapery of her robe and veil clearly visible. The border of the medal features a perfectly legible raised inscription: "O MARY CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN PRAY FOR US WHO HAVE RECOURSE TO THEE." At the bottom of the medal, the date "1830" is engraved, a detail frequently associated with the "Miraculous Medals" from 19th-century Catholic tradition.

The metal surface has a dark gray patinated finish, with areas of natural wear on the raised parts, particularly on the face, hands, and garment folds. The overall appearance evokes a period object, with a sober style imbued with spirituality, typical of devotional objects from the mid to late 19th century.
