Description

This antique Catholic religious medal features an irregular octagonal shape, with a suspension loop integrated into the upper part. The visible side shows a medallion with a relief decoration, surrounded by a gilded frame adorned with floral relief motifs, probably roses, positioned in the corners and on the edges. In the center, a stylized representation of a Virgin or a saint figure, standing on a bright blue background, occupies the main part of the medallion. The figure wears a veil and a long robe, rendered in a silvery or pale blue hue, with engraved details visible on the surface.

The glossy blue background evokes an enamel work or a lacquered painting, elegantly contrasting with the gilded appearance of the frame.
