Description

This antique religious medal features a classic oval shape, with an integrated round bail for easy wearing as a pendant on a chain or bracelet. The obverse, visible in the photo, is adorned in relief with a representation of the Virgin Mary standing with open arms, in the iconography known as the "Miraculous Virgin." The motif is surrounded by a clearly legible inscription in capital letters: "O MARY CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN PRAY FOR US WHO HAVE RECOURSE TO THEE."

The medal displays a dark, matte patina, typical of antique alloys. According to the keywords, it is made of bronze, which corresponds to the slightly coppery appearance visible on the bail and the periphery. The details of the drapery, halo, and facial features are finely carved, although the relief shows regular signs of wear, consistent with prolonged use.
