Description

This antique religious medal is oval in shape, made of metal, in accordance with the keywords. On the visible side, there is a finely engraved representation of the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Montmartre, Paris, recognizable by its characteristic domes and the arrangement of its facade. The semi-circular inscription on the upper edge is partially legible: "S. C. MONTMARTRE", referring to the Sacré-Cœur. A suspension ring molded into the mass allows it to be worn as a pendant.

The surface has a matte patina, typical of religious objects worn and handled over time. The slightly satin appearance of the metal suggests industrial manufacturing, probably from the first half or mid-20th century, consistent with the engraving style and general shape. No manufacturer's mark is visible on this side.

The decoration is in slight relief: the basilica occupies the center of the medal, with a meticulous architectural rendering. The details of the domes and arches are well-defined, which attests to precise work despite the wear. The edge of the medal is regular, with no additional decoration.

The suspension hole is wide, allowing a chain or cord to pass through easily. The whole testifies to a worn use, probably as a religious pendant or personal devotional object.
