Description

This antique religious medal features a classic round shape, with a tarnished, gilded finish, characteristic of devotional objects from the early to mid-20th century. The visible side bears a raised depiction of the Miraculous Virgin Mary, surrounded by a halo of stars. The border carries an inscription in French, part of which remains legible: "Ô MARIE CONÇUE SANS PÉCHÉ PRIEZ POUR NOUS" (O MARY CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN PRAY FOR US). This phrase is typical of the "miraculous" medals distributed in the Catholic tradition.

The central relief, although slightly worn by time, remains identifiable. The traditional posture of the Virgin, with open arms, standing on a globe, is clearly distinguishable. The background is adorned with a scattering of stars, giving the whole a textured effect and additional depth to the medal. The perimeter is highlighted by a thin border that frames the main motif.

The upper bail, of rounded shape, is attached to the medal by a thick ring, itself marked by a dark patina, a sign of ancient use.
