Description

This vintage religious medal features a classic oval shape, typical of Catholic devotional items. On the visible side, it bears a relief of the Miraculous Virgin, depicted standing with open and lowered arms, radiating downwards. The border of the medal is adorned with an inscription in capital letters, part of which is legible: "O MARY CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN PRAY FOR US…". This textual frame, in relief, is characteristic of "miraculous" medals inspired by the apparition of the Virgin to Saint Catherine Labouré in Paris in the 19th century.

The medal features a luminous golden finish on the side shown, with a slightly patinated effect enhancing its antique appearance. The details of the Virgin's face, veil, and hands are clearly visible and finely carved, as are the folds of her garment. The bail, rounded in shape, allows it to be worn as a pendant or on a chain, and appears darker in color, suggesting a contrast in finish or natural wear.
