Description

This antique medal features a rectangular shape with crenellated edges, typical of Art Deco aesthetics. Made of silver-finished metal, it boasts precise and clear relief, with characteristic inscriptions and motifs. The visible side prominently displays the inscription "ROMANS" at the top, accompanied by two stylized figures: a silhouette in motion in the center, surrounded by graphic elements reminiscent of the 1930s-40s. The structured decor and symmetry reinforce its geometric style.

The central field of the medal shows a stylized representation, likely sporting or symbolic, surrounded by vertical and horizontal relief lines. Lateral engraved inscriptions are also visible, though partially legible ("CHAMPIONNAT" (Championship) and "UNION" appear distinctly), suggesting a commemorative or honorary object related to an event or institution in the city of Romans.

The surface has a matte patina, with a uniform silver metallic appearance, without polychromy or visible gilding. No attachment system is visible on this side, neither a bail nor a pin, which suggests a medal or honorary plaque intended to be mounted or displayed. The relief details are sharp, indicating excellent strike quality and careful preservation of the original motif.

The design of this medal clearly evokes the Art Deco movement, both in its typography and its rigorous composition and interplay of straight lines and angles. The object is presented on a round yellow velvet cushion, which highlights the cool color of the medal and accentuates visual contrasts. No major defects, cracks, or missing parts are visible on the exposed side.

The inscriptions and reliefs are well-preserved, without excessive wear or apparent oxidation. The ensemble exudes an impression of solidity and sober elegance, typical of French civil or sporting awards of the 20th century.
