Description

This mignonette represents an old miniature Byrrh aperitif bottle, identifiable by its emblematic original label on the front. The slender cylindrical bottle is made of transparent glass, revealing a dark liquid inside. The narrow neck is topped with a red screw cap, clearly visible in the photo. The cream and red label features the name "BYRRH" in large red capital letters, accompanied by an ornamental crest on the upper part and classic decorative motifs on the lower part, including two stylized lions and various French inscriptions, such as "élaboré avec des vins vieux" (made with old wines) and a reference to the Catalan region.

The glass surface shows a slight patina and some signs of age, consistent with a period object. The original label, though partially patinated, remains largely legible, enhancing the authenticity and decorative value of this vintage mignonette. No chips or cracks are visible on the photographed side. The metal cap shows discreet superficial wear marks, typical of prolonged storage.

The overall presentation of the bottle, its compact proportions, and its graphic style clearly evoke a production from the mid to late 20th century, in the tradition of typical French aperitifs. The ensemble demonstrates a careful design, characteristic of Byrrh products intended for tasting or display.

The bottle is photographed outdoors, placed on a wooden surface with natural elements around it, highlighting its authentic and retro appearance.

Condition

Used item sold as is. The label shows signs of patina and age. The cap and glass show slight marks related to age and exposure. No major defects visible on the displayed side.

Did you know? Byrrh is a French aperitif created in 1866 in Thuir, in the Pyrénées-Orientales. Its recipe combines red wine, quinine, and plant extracts, and it was one of the most popular aperitifs in France in the early 20th century. Mignonettes historically served as promotional samples and are now sought after for their decorative and heritage value.
