Description

This antique miniature bottle represents a Ricard Pacific miniature, an alcohol-free pastis, characterized by its typical advertising design. The bottle has a slender cylindrical shape, topped with a silver-colored metallic screw cap, with a visible relief on the upper part of the cap. The well-preserved label displays "PACIFIC de RICARD" in blue and yellow letters on a white background, accompanied by an illustration of a stylized sailboat on the sea, an emblematic graphic element of the Pacific brand.

On the lower part of the label, the mentions "LE PASTIS SANS L'ALCOOL" (THE ALCOHOL-FREE PASTIS), "SANS SUCRE" (SUGAR-FREE), "BOISSON AUX EXTRAITS D'ANIS" (DRINK WITH ANISE EXTRACTS), "SANS COLORANT" (NO ARTIFICIAL COLORS), and the capacity "2 cl" are clearly visible. A thin border surrounds the label, with "ÉCHANTILLON GRATUIT" (FREE SAMPLE) on the left side, typical of promotional items distributed during Ricard's advertising campaigns. The liquid inside the bottle is greenish-yellow, reminiscent of the aniseed tint of alcohol-free drinks in this range.

The typography of the label, the sailboat illustration, and the overall style evoke a production from the 1970s to 1980s, a period during which Ricard developed the Pacific range to offer an alcohol-free alternative. The entire object testifies to a vintage advertising design, appreciated for its authenticity and retro aesthetic.

The visible side of the bottle shows no apparent cracks or chips. The label is well preserved, with vibrant colors and perfectly legible inscriptions. The cap shows a slight patina, indicative of the miniature's age, with no excessive signs of oxidation.

This miniature is a beautiful example of an advertising bottle, ideal for display in a bar cabinet, on a retro kitchen shelf, or as part of a 70s-80s themed decor. It illustrates the evolution of communication strategies of French spirits brands, which offered free samples to promote their alcohol-free innovations.
