Mignonette empty rum Vana Antilles old vintage bottle bar decor
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This antique miniature bottle, visible in the photo, is an empty promotional rum bottle from the Vana brand. It features a classic cylindrical silhouette with a defined shoulder and a straight neck, topped with a silver-toned metal cap. On the front, the original label is well preserved, with the inscription "RHUM DES ANTILLES VANA" in gold letters on a black and yellow background. The central decoration features a stylized female portrait surrounded by botanical motifs, typical of the commercial imagery of Caribbean rums from the mid-20th century.
The bottle, made of transparent glass with a slightly patinated surface, reveals a natural hue and some traces of use, attesting to its age. The label, with its well-contrasted colors (yellow, black, white), also includes the mention "Rue de Solférino, Paris, France," indicating the address of the distributor or manufacturer. The overall presentation clearly suggests a production intended for promotion or tasting, probably from the 1950s to 1970s, a period when this type of miniature bottle was very common in bars and cafes.
The silver metal cap is closed but does not indicate the presence of content: the bottle is completely empty, which is consistent with the decorative or collection use of these antique mini-bottles. No broken glass or chips are visible on the part shown, and the label, though slightly patinated, remains legible and firmly attached.
The graphic design of the label, with a stylized female portrait and retro lettering, reflects the advertising style of the era, typical of Caribbean spirits distributed in France. The compact format of the miniature bottle makes it an easy object to display in a showcase, on a shelf, or as part of a vintage bar decoration.

Did you know? Promotional rum miniatures were often offered in bars or at promotional events between the 1950s and 1970s.
