Description
Old St Raphaël aperitif miniature bottle, as shown in the photo. The bottle has a classic miniature shape with a thin neck and a flared body, typical of small promotional or sample bottles from the mid-20th century. The liquid's color is amber, suggesting a wine-based aperitif or a quinquina, characteristic of the St Raphaël brand.

The label on the front displays "St Raphaël apéritif de France" in a recognizable handwritten style, accompanied by a golden area and black ornaments. Also visible are mentions of distinctions: "Médaille d’or-Argent, 5 grands prix hors concours, Exposition Universelle Paris" (Gold-Silver Medal, 5 grand prizes out of competition, Paris Universal Exhibition), as well as a stylized logo depicting a winged figure, typical of St Raphaël productions from past decades.

The lower part of the label indicates "Blanc-Sec — Apéritif à base de vin" (Dry White — Wine-based Aperitif), specifying the drink's variety. The capacity of 5 cl and the alcohol content of 16% are also noted, common information on French aperitif miniatures. The address of the St Raphaël company is at the bottom of the label: "8 rue du Parc, Rouen."

The golden screw cap shows signs of oxidation and patina, attesting to the bottle's age. The label has some creases and signs of wear but remains legible and generally well-preserved for an object of its era.

The overall presentation evokes a promotional miniature or an aperitif souvenir, typical of French advertising style from the 1950s to the 1970s. The graphic design and label elements allow the bottle to be attributed to a vintage period, without being able to specify an exact year.

Did you know? St Raphaël is one of the oldest French quinquina-based aperitifs, created in 1830 by Doctor Juppet in Paris. It achieved great success in the 20th century, particularly thanks to its advertising campaigns and the distribution of miniature bottles at events and universal exhibitions.
