Vintage Sainte Baume Liqueur Provence 43° miniature old decorative bottle
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This antique miniature bottle depicts a small bottle of Provence liqueur, identifiable by its original label "Grande Liqueur de Provence Sainte Baume" and its alcohol content indicated as 43°. The bottle has a classic cylindrical shape, with an elongated neck and a metallic screw cap with a silver finish, typical of packaging from the first half of the 20th century. The transparent glass reveals a clear liquid, probably original, and the label features retro typography predominantly in black and red on a beige background, accompanied by decorative period graphic motifs.
The label, well-preserved for its age, displays the following inscriptions: "Grande Liqueur de Provence", "Sainte Baume", as well as the alcohol content "43°". The mention "Ancienne Distillerie à M.AUB." is also visible, confirming the authenticity and regional origin of the product. No other visible details or markings appear on the photographed side. The liquid fills most of the bottle, indicating good preservation.
The metallic cap shows a slight patina and some superficial oxidation marks, characteristic of a period object. The compact bottle has a sleek, unembellished design, typical of advertising miniatures or distillery gifts from the early to mid-20th century.
The Gothic typography and graphic ornaments on the label evoke an Art Deco or 1930s-1950s style, with a sought-after retro aesthetic in vintage decoration. This type of miniature is often sought after for enhancing old bars, thematic display cases, or collections of advertising objects related to alcohol and French gastronomy.
The bottle is photographed on a varnished wooden support, in an environment with neo-Gothic architecture, but only the front of the bottle is visible in the image; no details on the back, bottom, or inside of the cap are observable.
Condition
Used item sold as is. The label shows a beautiful patina with some signs of wear and slight discoloration, typical of its age. The liquid level is well preserved, the cap shows superficial oxidation marks but remains intact. No visible cracks or chips on the front of the glass.
Did you know? Sainte Baume, located in Provence, is a mountainous massif famous for its religious history and aromatic herbs. Many distilleries in the region once used these plants to make artisanal liqueurs, some of which are now sought after for their rarity and authenticity.
