Mini Bommerlunder bottle, vintage alcohol mignonette with embossed label
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This mini bottle, also known as a miniature or "mignonette", is an old liquor flask from the Bommerlunder brand. The object has a slender cylindrical shape with a narrow neck. The bottle appears to be made of clear, smooth-surfaced glass, topped with an embossed metal cap, metallic blue on top, which gives a retro touch to the whole.
The visible side features a richly decorated printed label, typical of German productions from the mid-20th century. Several medals and ornaments are visible at the top of the label, as well as the clearly legible inscription "BOMMERLUNDER" in black letters, accompanied by details such as "40 VOL%" and "HERM. G. DETHLEFSEN, FLENSBURG". The mention "Originalabfüllung für LUFTHANSA" indicates a special edition for the airline, which enhances the historical interest of this miniature.
The text at the bottom of the label "DEUTSCHES ERZEUGNIS" specifies its German origin. A purple inscription, "ORIGINAL ABFÜLLUNG", stands out as an overprint, adding to the period aesthetic. The overall graphics, the fonts used, and the patina of the cap are typical of a 1960s-1980s design.
The visible general condition shows an intact cap, glass without apparent chips or cracks on the presented side, and a partially patinated but generally legible label. The overall appearance exudes vintage charm, with some traces of age that emphasize its authenticity.
This Bommerlunder mini bottle, an aquavit or schnapps type, was often offered as a gift or served on Lufthansa flights, hence its specific mention. It attracts with its retro style, compact presentation, and detailed label, ideal for a display cabinet, a spirits shelf, or a decoration on the theme of aviation or old alcohols.
