Description

Old pocket watch shown in the photo, typical of models from the 19th or early 20th century. The classic round case has a black, patinated finish. The visible dial is made of white enamel, adorned with Roman numerals for the hour indication and a peripheral minute track in Arabic numerals. Several signs of wear, stains, and oxidation marks are visible across the dial, attesting to the piece's age and its need for restoration.

The winder, located at the top of the case, is an onion-shaped crown, characteristic of old pocket watches. It also shows a dark patina and wear consistent with the rest of the object. No protective glass is present on the visible face of the dial, directly exposing the enameled surface and its flaws. No legible manufacturer's marks or inscriptions are discernible on the visible face.

The dial displays two hands (hour and minute), both with an antique appearance, one positioned downwards, the other near noon. Several chips, scratches, and dirt are clearly visible on the enamel, as well as a significant crack originating from the top of the dial. The bezel shows uniform wear, with traces of oxidation or corrosion, enhancing the authentic character of the object.

The entire watch rests on a yellow velvet cushion (presentation accessory not included), accentuating the decorative and vintage aspect of the scene. A plant branch is also visible in the background, without affecting the object itself.

This type of old watch, also known as a "pocket watch," was generally worn with a chain and slipped into a vest or jacket pocket. The typography of the dial and the general style evoke manufacturing from the late 19th or early 20th century, without being able to be more precise without other visible clues.

Enamel dials were prized for their readability and resistance to fading, but they are sensitive to shocks and cracks, hence the rarity of old examples in perfect condition today.
