Description

This antique women's watch from the brand Le Forsan features a design typical of vintage models, recognizable by its classic round shape and articulated link bracelet. The visible dial displays "Le Forsan" and "Quartz," indicating a quartz movement. The display includes three hands (hours, minutes, seconds) and a date window located at 6 o'clock. The dial is light-colored, patinated by time, with golden indices and a silver-finished case outline with golden touches visible on the bezel. The numbers and hour markers are clearly marked, and the dial shows signs of wear and superficial marks consistent with prolonged use.

The metal bracelet consists of articulated links with a silver finish, with a uniform width and a simple deployant clasp. The contrast between the case and the bracelet highlights the model's retro aesthetic, typical of watches produced between the 1970s and 1990s. The piece shows a uniform patina, revealing traces of oxidation and micro-scratches visible on the surface of the case and bracelet.

Inscriptions are present on the dial: "Le Forsan," "Quartz," "Date," as well as numbered markers (12, 3, 6, 9) and a minute track. The golden hands and indices contrast with the light background, although signs of alteration are visible, including stains and partial discoloration of the dial. The bezel features markers every 10 minutes, also gilded, some of which show signs of wear.

The crown is positioned at 3 o'clock, discreet in size, with no visible logo. No decoration or engraving is visible on the front of the case shown. The dial glass shows scratches and some superficial chips, accentuating the need for restoration of this piece.

The watch is sold with no indication of functionality. It is intended for restoration or collection, as suggested by its general condition and patina. The piece retains a retro charm, appreciated for its authenticity and period style.

Did you know? The Le Forsan brand, though less known than major watchmaking names, offered several quartz models for the European market during the second half of the 20th century. Quartz watches appeared in the 1970s and revolutionized watchmaking with their precision and lower production cost compared to traditional mechanical movements.
