Description
This Ingersoll women's wristwatch features a typical 1950s/1960s design, identifiable by its clean dial and clearly legible Arabic numerals. The watch is photographed face-on, providing a clear view of the entire dial and bezel. The dial has a slightly patinated white hue, with numbered indices from 1 to 12 in golden brown, accentuating the classic retro look. The slim, dark hands elegantly contrast with the light background, making it easy to read the time. "INGERSOLL" is clearly visible in the center of the dial, confirming the brand, while a second, smaller line of inscription is partially visible but not fully legible in this photo.
The round case has a golden metallic finish, showing some visible wear and oxidation, particularly on the lower part. The lugs for the strap are straight and open, with no strap currently mounted, revealing the fixing bar. The winder, positioned at 3 o'clock, stands out with its knurled texture, typical of vintage mechanical watches. The watch is placed on a bright yellow cushion, which highlights its retro style and provides an aesthetic contrast to the presentation.
The bezel, in continuity with the case, shows signs of wear, particularly towards the bottom, highlighting the authenticity and history of this old piece. No decorative motifs are visible on the front, reinforcing the sober and functional appearance characteristic of watches of this era. The classic dial layout, combined with the absence of visible complications (no date or chronograph), confirms the utilitarian style sought after in women's models from the 50s to 60s.
The dial shows no apparent cracks on this face, but the glass surface shows some marks and micro-scratches, consistent with old daily use. The typography of the numerals and the shape of the hands are faithful to the mid-century aesthetic, often praised for its balance between readability and discreet elegance.
