Description

An antique watch from the Monté brand, shown here as its main dial. The dial has a white finish reminiscent of enamel, adorned with clear black Roman numerals distributed around the entire circumference. The inscription "Monté" is positioned at the top of the dial in elegant cursive letters. At the bottom, the mention "SWISS MVP" is visible, confirming Swiss manufacturing. The dial is round, with a slight bevel visible around the edge. The edge of the dial shows some signs of use and minor marks, typical of an old, used object.

The hands, in black, are classic in style and contrast sharply with the light background. The winder, located on the right, is clearly visible and has a serrated appearance, traditional for hand-wound mechanical watches. No casing is visible in the photo; only the dial and winder are shown, suggesting the piece is out of service or intended for repair or decoration.

The typography used for the Roman numerals and the Monté signature evokes a classic, timeless style, often sought after for vintage watches. The assembly rests on a decorative metal stand with floral patterns and ornamentation, which is not included in the sale (present only in the background).

The dial also features a small letter "Q" above the central axis, but no other logo or technical indication is visible on this face. The overall condition shows traces of use and some soiling, confirming the age and actual use of this watch.

This type of Swiss mechanical dial is typical of 20th-century vintage watches, prized for watch restoration or retro decoration. The piece is ideal for repair projects, upcycling, or display in a showcase dedicated to antique watchmaking.

Did you know? Enamel dials were commonly used on Swiss watches in the 19th and early 20th centuries for their high wear resistance and legibility. The "Swiss" inscriptions on the dial guarantee Swiss origin, a global benchmark for watchmaking quality.
