Description

An old mechanical watch from the brand Imperial, featuring an octagonal dial with a silver finish, typical of watch creations from the 1950s-1960s. The dial shows a pronounced patina and many visible signs of wear, giving the whole an authentically vintage appearance. The inscription "Imperial" appears below the number 12, accompanied by the mention "17 JEWELS INCABLOC" at the bottom of the dial, indicating a mechanical movement with 17 jewels and an Incabloc shock protection system, highly sought after for its robustness at the time.

The visible hands, with their golden baton shape, retain a beautiful presence despite traces of oxidation and signs of use. The indexes are applied in black as thin lines, with a stylized 12 at the top and a 14 at the bottom, an unusual detail. The notched crown, positioned on the right, is clearly visible and also shows signs of use. The whole is highlighted by the geometric shape of the case, which stands out clearly from traditional round models.

The dial surface displays a textured effect with numerous micro-scratches and pitting, attesting to the age of the piece. No strap is visible in the photo; only the case/dial part and the crown are presented. The watch rests on a decorative stand with golden patterns, highlighting the contrast between the aged metal of the case and the surrounding decor.

The general design, the mention "Incabloc," and the typography suggest production from the second half of the 20th century, in a classic and sober style, characteristic of men's or unisex wristwatches of that period.

Did you know? The Incabloc system, mentioned on the dial, was invented in 1934 in Switzerland and established itself as a reference in shock protection for mechanical movements. It improved the durability and reliability of jeweled watches, particularly in models from the 1950s-1970s.
