Vintage Cavalier LCD quartz watch out of order, metal-look strap, 80s
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This digital display wristwatch is signed "Cavalier" and features an aesthetic typical of 1980s electronic watches. The rectangular dial, with softened angles, clearly displays "LCD QUARTZ" at the top, as well as "HOUR MIN" and "MONTH DATE/SEC" around the central screen. The "CAVALIER" brand is clearly visible at the bottom of the dial. The LCD screen occupies the central part, surrounded by a silver frame with a glossy finish, with a polished lower area that reflects light. The overall look evokes the retro technological style characteristic of the late 20th century.
The strap, visible in the photo, is made of metallic-looking links, alternating wide and narrow segments for a classic geometric appearance of the era. It integrates perfectly with the case, creating a continuous and elegant line. The case features a silver finish and marked contours, typical of vintage electronic watches.
On the visible side, there is no active display on the screen, confirming that the watch is out of order. The right-side button is visible, intended for programming functions (hours, minutes, date, seconds, month) when the watch was working. There are also some marks and scratches on the dial and the surface of the case, indicating prior use.
The watch is photographed front-on, placed on a white background, with a gold frame in the background that highlights its retro appeal. No other accessories or packaging are visible in the image. The overall appearance of the object immediately evokes the electronic quartz watches popular in the 1980s, both in terms of shape and strap design.
The combination of the LCD display, the visually metallic strap, and the "QUARTZ" mention corresponds to the utilitarian and robust watches of this period, often sought after for repairs or for parts.

Did you know? LCD quartz watches revolutionized watchmaking in the 1970s and 1980s, offering a precise and affordable alternative to mechanical watches.
