Description

Antique rectangular watch, featuring a black dial with gilded Arabic numerals and gilded hands, signed "RRDO Jubilé". The bezel has a gilded finish with a patinated appearance, which contrasts with the case and the wide-link expandable bracelet with a matte metallic finish. The understated dial displays the numbers 12, 3, 6, and 9, as well as the inscription "jubilé 6" in white letters. The ensemble offers a decidedly retro aesthetic, typical of watches produced in the second half of the 20th century.

The bracelet consists of wide, flat links with a satin grey finish, showing a slight curvature on the visible upper part. The watch comes with a soft black case, whose peripheral stitching and matte texture are visible in the photo. The case is designed to protect the watch and also shows a patina of use on the surface.

The rectangular case, with rounded corners, shows some visible signs of wear, including scratches and marks on the gilded finish, confirming the age of the piece. The crystal reveals the dial without noticeable distortion, and the entire piece is presented on a red fabric that highlights the contrast of materials and colours.

The dial does not have a second hand, and no other markings are visible apart from the brand and time indications. The overall aesthetic is reminiscent of retro-style watches, with a minimalist design and optimised legibility. The expandable bracelet allows for easy wear, with no visible clasp on the front.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Visible signs of wear on the gilded case and bracelet. The case also shows handling marks and a patina of use. No functional tests have been carried out, sold as shown in the photo.

Did you know? The uncommon RRDO brand produced several models of rectangular-designed watches in the second half of the 20th century, intended for events or commemorations ("Jubilé"). Expandable metal bracelets were very popular in the 60s to 80s for their practicality and robustness.
