Description

This vintage mechanical watch movement, signed Velona, features a round silver-finish dial with a slightly satin surface. The hour markers are applied, rectangular, and gold-colored, offering an elegant contrast with the dial's background. The visible baton-style hands are dark, likely blued or blackened, and the dial displays "17 INCA" referring to the number of jewels and the Incabloc shock protection system, appreciated features of quality mechanical watches.

The dial is marked "VELONA" below the 12 o'clock marker, and the knurled crown is clearly visible on the right, facilitating manipulation of the mechanism. No case is present in the photo: only the movement with dial, hands, and crown appears, making it a piece intended for repair, restoration, or replacement on a compatible wristwatch.

The dial shows some signs of wear and micro-scratches visible in the light, testifying to its age and previous use. The arrangement of the markers, their relief, and the typography of the inscriptions suggest manufacturing typical of the mid-20th century, probably between the 1950s and 1970s, a period when this style of mechanical watches was common.

This movement is presented in an open wooden box, but only the watchmaking element is for sale. No case back, strap, or other accessories are visible or included. This piece is intended for watchmaking use, particularly for spare parts or a reassembly project.

Condition

Used item, sold as is, non-functional ("out of order") and intended for parts recovery or restoration. Signs of use, scratches, and traces of oxidation are visible on the dial. Please examine the photo carefully to assess the exact condition.

Did you know? The Incabloc system, mentioned on this movement, was invented in Switzerland in 1934 to protect mechanical watches from shocks. It is a spring-loaded device that absorbs drops and preserves the life of the mechanism, especially on models with 17 jewels like this one.
