Description

This item is a vintage medical prescription, dated January 28, 1952, from the office of Doctor Ranque, a biologist practicing at 16, rue Dragon in Marseille. The document, presented on professional letterhead, features classic post-war typography, typical of French administrative and medical documents from the early 1950s. At the top of the page is a list of biological and bacteriological examinations offered by the laboratory, such as blood tests, serologies, bacteriological examinations, hormone assays, and coagulation studies.

The paper has a smooth, matte texture, characteristic of archival papers from this period. The black printed text is clear and legible, while the handwritten information (patient's name, date, examination number, doctor's signature) is in blue ink. A metal clip holds the sheet in the upper left corner, a common method for filing medical records in the 20th century.

The central inscription clearly states "Docteur Ranque, Médecin Biologiste" with vintage telephone numbers and administrative references, highlighting the authenticity and origin of the document from Marseille. At the bottom of the page, the handwritten name of the patient, "Mademoiselle Blanc," and the signature of Doctor Raymond Girard add a human and historical touch to the piece.

The entire document is presented against a backdrop of an old library, enhancing its heritage character and its interest for the history of medicine in France. No reverse side or additional details are visible in the provided photo.

Condition

This document is used and sold as is. There is a slight patina on the paper, moderate signs of use, and an upper corner held by a metal clip. No chips, tears, or major stains are visible on the presented side.
