Description
Old Catox detergent packet in its original packaging, visible in the photo. The box has a vertical rectangular shape, typical of household product packaging from the 1950s. The packaging is made of predominantly beige cardboard, with a large blue and orange graphic triangle on the front. The inscription "CATOX" appears in bright orange capital letters, accompanied by the slogan "LAVE SANS EFFORT" (WASH EFFORTLESSLY) printed at the bottom. An orange octagon is also visible in the central triangle, as well as a logo at the top indicating "GROUPMENT FRANÇAIS... de Corps Gras" (French Grouping... of Fats).
The graphic design clearly expresses the post-war French advertising aesthetic, with geometric lines and contrasting colors. The cardboard surface shows a uniform patina, visible traces of wear and dust, attesting to its age and authenticity. There are also some marks and stains on the front, as well as a slight crushing of the cardboard on the bottom and left side.
The geometric pattern, typography, and use of bright colors are characteristic of mid-20th century household packaging. No details of the back, bottom, or unvisible sides are described, in accordance with the single side shown in the image. The general condition suggests a package that has remained closed and unopened, with no indication of the remaining contents.
The mention "LAVE SANS EFFORT" highlights the main marketing argument of the time, emphasizing ease of use. The logo of the industrial group suggests French manufacturing, typical of detergents sold in the 1950s in France. No other text or additional graphic elements are legible in the visible area.
This type of object is now sought after for vintage decoration, illustrating retro interiors, or recreating old grocery stores. The packaging, with its design, is part of the post-war advertising and domestic heritage.
