Description

This vintage sewing pattern, published as a free supplement to "Femmes d'Aujourd'hui" magazine No. 998, dated June 18, 1964, comes in the form of a large black and white printed sheet. On the visible side, there is an illustration depicting a woman wearing a sleeveless, polka-dot maxi dress, fitted at the waist, accompanied by a little girl in short dungarees over a T-shirt. The silhouettes are drawn in a graphic style typical of the 60s, with a voluminous hairstyle for the woman, highlighting the retro aesthetic of the era.

The pattern offers two main models: a feminine dress with a scooped neckline, cinched at the waist (reference N°8100, size 46), and dungarees for a little girl (reference N°8101, size 3 years). The technical sketches and cutting diagrams are printed on the left of the page, showing the different pattern pieces, each annotated with the necessary instructions for making the garments.

The paper has a yellowed tint, typical of period documents, and shows some signs of age: slightly creased corners, small tears and visible wear marks, particularly on the upper right part. However, the print remains legible, with clear text and drawings. The title "DES TENUES POUR LE JARDIN" (OUTDOOR OUTFITS) announces the practical and summery purpose of these designs, suitable for outdoor activities.

At the top of the page, we find the mention "SUPPLÉMENT HEBDOMADAIRE GRATUIT À FEMMES D'AUJOURD'HUI" (FREE WEEKLY SUPPLEMENT TO FEMMES D'AUJOURD'HUI), a guarantee of authenticity for this pattern published in France in the 1960s. The detailed instructions, although partially visible, provide a glimpse into the care taken in describing the sewing steps and the recommended fabric choices for making these vintage outfits.

This pattern is aimed at retro fashion enthusiasts who wish to recreate authentic 60s-style clothing, or at lovers of costume and sewing history. The polka dot patterns of the dress, the high-waisted cut, and the child's dungarees are emblematic of the era, offering timeless charm and inspiration faithful to the trends of 1964.
