Description

This lot features an authentic antique sewing pattern for children's trousers. The visible pouch contains a vintage pattern, illustrated on the front by a blue technical drawing of a young boy wearing straight-cut trousers, slightly flared, paired with a high-neck sweater. The ensemble is typical of children's clothing lines from the early 1970s, with a streamlined silhouette and simple details.

In the upper right corner is the inscription "Flannel trousers for 8 and 10 years old," specifying the pattern's use for making children's clothing, as well as the intended material (flannel). The mention "Patron du Mois n°476" (Pattern of the Month no. 476) attests to a specialized periodic edition, while the date "September 1971" allows for precise identification of the publication period. To the right, a small technical diagram of the trousers completes the presentation.

The pattern is preserved in a transparent plastic sleeve, revealing the main sheet with its blue printed inscriptions on beige paper. No major defects are visible on the front; the paper appears well-preserved, without apparent stains or tears. The corners have remained crisp despite its age, and the print remains legible.

The visible elements indicate a complete pattern, probably composed of several sheets to be cut (not visible here), with all the necessary instructions for making the model. The graphic aesthetic, typography, and presentation perfectly match French fashion and publications of the 1970s.

Condition

Used item sold as is. The plastic sleeve shows some creases and signs of use, but effectively protects the paper pattern, which appears in good overall condition on the visible side.

Did you know? "Patron du Mois" (Pattern of the Month) was a very popular French publication in the 1960s-1970s, offering monthly DIY sewing patterns adapted to current fashion. Children's patterns, like this one, reflect the evolution of ready-to-wear and home sewing during this era, when home sewing remained common in many households.
