Vintage sewing pattern Modes de Paris 70s dress, old retro supplement
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This antique sewing pattern comes from a weekly supplement of the magazine "Pour vous Madame Modes de Paris", n°178, as indicated in the top right corner of the document. The black and white photograph shows a woman wearing a straight-cut, knee-length dress with long sleeves and buttoned cuffs. The design features a lavallière collar with a large knot, characteristic of feminine trends from the early 1970s.
The fabric shown in the photo of the dress displays a dense floral pattern, typical of retro aesthetics, although the pattern itself allows for the use of any fabric of your choice. The ensemble is completed by buttonholes on the cuffs and a slightly flared cut, emphasizing the practical simplicity of the designs offered at that time.
The advertisement visible in the top right specifies that the pattern is available in several sizes (46, 48, 50) and can be ordered under reference n°1178-50 from the magazine's dedicated service. No paper pattern is visible in the image; this is the announcement or presentation page for the design, intended to illustrate the final look of the garment.
The page, in apparent good condition, shows clear printing, with no visible tears or stains on the exposed area. The contrast of the print highlights the details of the garment as well as the editorial graphics typical of vintage French fashion magazines.
The ensemble constitutes an authentic testament to 1970s women's fashion, both in terms of the dress's cut and the advertising layout. This type of pattern is sought after for recreating retro outfits or enriching textile documentation.
Condition
Used item, sold as is. The photo shows a clean page, with no major apparent flaws on the visible side.
