Description
This antique pendant depicts a stylized Hamsa hand, a symbol traditionally associated with protection. It is an openwork piece, made of metal with a patinated appearance, and its surface features rich raised decoration. The center of the pendant is adorned with a star-shaped floral motif, enhanced by a small spherical protuberance evoking a central cabochon. Numerous stylized hearts and curved motifs decorate the entire palm and fingers, adding a distinctive oriental touch to the jewelry.
The visible side shows handcrafted chiseling, with several circular openwork details punctuating the hand. The outline of the pendant is accentuated by a slightly raised frieze, emphasizing the recognizable shape of the protective hand. The large, solid suspension ring is directly integrated into the pendant's structure, allowing for easy wearing on a thick chain or cord.
The metal finish reveals matte nuances and small surface irregularities, typical of 1950s costume jewelry production. The visible patina accentuates the vintage character of the piece, while highlighting the decorative reliefs. No legible markings or signature are visible on the front face.
The central decoration, both floral and geometric, stands out clearly on the palm, surrounded by chiseled motifs evoking arabesques and good luck symbols. Each finger is adorned with a stylized heart, reinforcing the protective and benevolent aesthetic of this pendant.
The pendant is displayed on a wooden stand, which allows appreciation of the relief and depth of the motifs. The overall appearance suggests an oriental style jewel, typical of costume creations inspired by Mediterranean and Middle Eastern traditions of the 1950s.
