This antique religious pendant is a round metal medal, illustrating in relief the scene of Saint Joseph holding the Infant Jesus in his arms. The finely crafted composition highlights the two haloed figures, Saint Joseph holding a lily branch, a symbol of purity, while the Infant Jesus adopts a blessing posture. The relief style testifies to meticulous craftsmanship, typical of French religious medals from the early to mid-20th century.

On the visible side, the medal has a matte patina, with dark shades in the hollows that accentuate the modeling of the faces and draperies. The surface displays a slightly satin appearance, typical of antique metal, and shows some signs of wear attesting to its age. The edge of the medal is plain, without ornaments, which further highlights the central scene.

A large, integral ring allows it to be easily worn as a sautoir or on a classic chain. The engraved signature "E. Dropsy" is visible on the right side of the medal, characteristic of the work of Emile Dropsy, a renowned medallist for his religious subjects in the early 20th century.
