Description

Rectangular Catholic religious pendant, made of silver-plated metal with a patinated appearance. The visible side features a detailed bas-relief illustrating an apparition scene: a haloed figure standing, probably the Virgin Mary, is on the left, while a woman kneeling in prayer faces her, probably Bernadette Soubirous, in a setting evoking Lourdes. A luminous ray connects the two characters, enhancing the spiritual dimension of the scene. In the background, vertical architectural elements reminiscent of the basilica or the buildings of Lourdes are visible, as well as a rocky landscape typical of this site.

The plaque is rectangular with rounded corners, and an integrated eyelet at the top for a chain or cord. The silver-plated metal has a uniform patina, with visible areas of oxidation, accentuating the antique character of the piece. The reliefs are sharp and convey a scene that is both narrative and devotional, typical of religious medals and pendants produced in France in the 20th century.

The finish is matte, with some brighter reflections on the raised parts, indicating past use. No text or inscription is legible on the visible side. The whole gives an impression of robustness and authenticity, suitable for spiritual use as well as for display as a devotional object or decoration.
