Description

This antique Catholic religious pendant is made of metal, in accordance with the keywords provided. Rectangular with a sloping top, it features a patinated finish and a matte silver tone, typical of period devotional objects. The visible side is adorned with a bas-relief depicting the bust of the Virgin Mary, haloed, holding a cross and a bouquet of roses against her heart. The scene is framed by a raised oval medallion, while the upper part of the pendant is decorated with three sculpted rose motifs in a frieze.

The bail, solidly integrated into the upper part, allows this medallion to be worn on a chain or cord. The piece shows slight traces of oxidation and an authentic patina, highlighting its age and vintage character. The slightly worn appearance of the metal reveals small greenish marks in places, without detracting from the legibility of the iconographic details.

The relief work and the expressiveness of the Virgin's face attest to careful, probably artisanal production, although the mark or workshop is not identifiable on the visible side. The floral motif, common in sacred art from the early to mid-20th century, evokes a classic style, typical of devotional objects distributed during pilgrimages or communions.

The pendant is photographed on an old carved wooden box, which highlights its historical aspect and decorative dimension. No other accessories are visible in the image; only the front face of the medallion is shown.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Marked patina, traces of oxidation, and wear of the metal visible on the front face (see photo). The piece remains solid and legible.
