Description

This antique religious pendant depicts the Virgin Mary full-length, with open arms, on an oval medal with a patinated metallic appearance. The iconography is typical of the Miraculous Medal, with the radiant Virgin at the center, haloed by stylized rays of light. The visible side features a raised inscription around the perimeter: "O MARY CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN PRAY FOR US WHO HAVE RECOURSE TO THEE." The date "1830" appears at the bottom of the medal, a traditional reference to the year of the apparitions on Rue du Bac in Paris. The wide and robust suspension ring is integral to the medal, allowing for easy attachment to a chain or cord.

The surface shows a uniform patina, with dark nuances and matte reflections, characteristic of an old metal object. The relief of the Virgin and the letters remains well-defined despite visible wear from use on the high-relief areas, particularly on the veil and dress.
