Description

This vintage 1970s pendant depicts a stylized couple embracing, in a graphic design typical of the pop art aesthetic of that decade. The deliberately simplified and elongated silhouette evokes the artistic trends of the early hippie era and disco fashion, characteristic of the time.

The visible face of the pendant features a strong contrast between bright colors: the character on the left has orange hair and a blue outfit, while the one on the right wears red and blue clothing with dark hair. Silver outlines highlight each shape, accentuating the cloisonné effect and the shine of the surface, reminiscent of enamel technique or a lacquered finish.

The motif occupies the entire surface of the pendant, with no apparent background, revealing the naive and joyful style of the scene. The top of the pendant is fitted with a large ring, allowing for easy attachment to a chain or cord. The item appears to be from old stock (deadstock), having never been worn, which is consistent with the perfectly preserved visual condition of the face shown.

The structure of the pendant suggests a metal construction covered with a colored coating, but only the silver finish and the enamelled appearance are visible. No markings or inscriptions appear on the front face.

This pendant stands out for its bold colors, retro inspiration, and romantic subject matter, highly representative of 1970s costume jewelry. The ensemble evokes both the freedom of the 70s and the influence of pop art design in fashion accessories.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible face shows no notable defects, scratches, or apparent missing parts. The overall appearance is very clean, consistent with a deadstock piece (old unworn stock).

Did you know? Figurative and colorful pendants were very popular in the 1970s, a time when the pop art movement and hippie culture greatly influenced fashion. Cloisonné and cold enamel techniques were frequently used to achieve these vibrant color and shine effects on costume jewelry.
